In November 2016, Ladbrokes acquired Gala Coral Group, and changed its name to Ladbrokes Coral.

In a bout of industry consolidation, Ladbrokes merged with Coral in 2016, forming Ladbrokes Coral PLC, before agreeing to its own acquisition by GVC Holdings, the owner of gambling and betting brands such as Bwin and PartyPoker.
